A downloadable game

Still making stuff to spruce up the place so excuse the white void!

Welcome to the itch page for my actual first game (Odyssian Void started development after this)!  This has been a Valve-time length project that I have been working on since RPG Maker 2003.  It has gone through several versions of RPG Maker and is currently being developed using RPG Maker MV (and will be staying on that engine).

Demo?

There will be a full-featured demo for the game.  Current plans are to release an alpha version here on Itch and also on our Patreon page for early access and other benefits for being an early adopter.  It will be free here on Itch.

The demo will cover the entirety of the Prologue of the game for the default story path which currently sits at around 9 hours if you complete all of the content.

About the Game

The Legend of Emilar is a large scale/scope RPG Maker game focused on player choice and consequence.  Your decisions have the chance to mold the game world and story in wild and unexpected ways.

The game takes place in the world of Elisnar, a world not dissimilar to our own.  The current year is 1025 Post-Arcanum (PA).  You play as a young adult male named Felto who is a resident of the Felgarin Empire; the third largest nation in the world.  As part of Felgarin life, you are about to undergo training for conscription into the Felgarin army, the Guard Force.  All Felgarins, on their 22nd year, are required to serve at least 10 years under legal penalties.

You do not know which branch of the Guard Force you will be able to qualify to serve in but you will make the most of it,  whichever it may be.

Features

Story-rich -  A lore filled environment with much historical lore that serves as the foundation the game is built upon.

Multiple story paths - Your choices and actions during the prologue  will determine which you story path you are likely to take.  Most paths will converge  back into the main story but some will take time to do so.

Branching story paths -  Quest paths and arcs that your actions will influence.  Through your actions you will shape how events unfold during the game.  Some paths may lead you to an early end, others may fundamentally change the rest of the game thereafter.

Your actions will have consequences and rewards.

Difficulty System - A difficulty system will be implemented with five difficulty options.  I do not have more details on this system at this time as it is still in the draft/planning stages.

Multiple endings - there will be multiple endings that you can unlock by fulfilling various criteria.

Full-featured Codex System - This game will contain a fully featured, living codex in which your lore discoveries, story progress, and other gameplay metrics will be stored including item, weapon, armor, class, monster, skill, and other information tracking.

Upgradable Weapons - A non-standard weapon system will be employed in the game which allows weapons to level up as you battle.  Weapons can be refined and/or synthesized into new, more powerful versions and even unique weapons.

Multi-Class System - This game will feature a multi-class system that will allow you to combine classes together to create interesting combinations that have unique properties.  This is achieved through class level requirements and a class system plugin.

Large Playable Cast - This game will feature a large number of recruitable party members.  Some choices may prevent you from obtaining their aid, while those same choices may allow you to enlist others.

Character Upgrading - The game will feature three systems to allow you to customize your character's stats.

The first of these three is a system that gives you upgrade points as you level which can be applied directly to that character's attributes.

The second is a system that uses items to allow you to boost your attributes when used.

The third is a system that boosts your stat growth per level for the current class you are using.

Complex Quest Chains - Maybe not Zelda complex, but this game will feature both main and side quest lines that extend and branch off from each other.  The results of these larger quest lines may result in large changes to the game world or give you new paths and areas to explore.

And more to come!
